boys and their toys

One of the boys favorite things to do at our new house is to race up and down the sidewalks with their trucks. It really is so nice to have a yard for them to play in!!!

Trip to D.C.

The boys had me take 2 of their stuffed animal with me on my trip. They were so cute about it. Though Ian was seriously worried I wasn't coming home, he asked if I would be home for Christmas!

Chris was kind enough to surprise me with a trip to D.C. to visit his sitter, Val (truth be told I was furious at first that he was sending me! I know I'm kind of a brat sometimes.) But of course I had a ball seeing the sites, went down to New York for a day, had some great "Jenny" time and brought the kids back fun souvenirs. By the time I got home I definitely had missed the boys but did appreciate the time to rejuvenate.

My 3 cute, sweet [most of the time] boys

On the boat at Strawberry while Daddy and Granddad went SCUBA diving for crawfish (yum!).
Pool at Snowbird. So dang cute.
The boys with their pandas from China, thanks Andrea! They must have these every night sleep, it's one of Bubba's new comfort items when he's sad or hurt. And I know every toy seems to say "Made in China" but not like these, no, these were brought back from Beijing scrunched inside my little sister's backpack and lovingly packed and brought home as souvenirs for her adorable nieces and nephews!

Diver, diver!

Caveman was a riot in the pool at Snowbird. He is getting really good at going under the water, especially after 2 weeks of parent/tot swim lessons in August. He is too dang funny!

Some of our Summer

Bubba got his first stitches. On our first visit to the pool this summer, he somehow managed to hit his chin going down the slide (next time my child says, "One more time, by myself." pretty sure I will think twice before saying yes!) He was super brave though and didn't even cry while the doctor put in the "sutures" (Bubba didn't want stitches so the doctor kindly did sutures instead, LOL).

Chris took two days off of work and we did a staycation of sorts; one day we went to This is the Place which was a lot of  fun. The baby animals were darling. I decided I want a pygmy goat someday. Then we went to Temple Square and saw the new display/model of the Salt Lake Temple and watched the Joseph Smith movie. It was a bit intense for the boys at times but I'm glad they got to watch it, and it has been years since I last saw it and was touched again.

Chris and I ran the Strawberry Days 5K and Bubba ran his first kids' race (1/2 mile). Then we watched the parade with my family and later that day went to the carnival and had our annual corndog and strawberries and cream. Caveman was excited he had grown enough and got to ride in the 4x4 trucks this year.

Swagger Wagon

So Chris thinks I only want a Toyota Sienna when we get a van. Mostly I just think it will be nice to have a van in general, to have plenty of room and seats for the kids and friends or carpool (someday). though I have to admit I do love the Sienna in red :) The video is kind of silly but funny at the same time.

thanks to my family man

"Family Man" from Trevor Little on Vimeo.

I'm so grateful for all the sacrifices Chris makes to take care of our family and to love me. And for my Dad who has does the same for my Mom and siblings. Also, a general shout out to all the great men out there who place their families as #1, oh how we need good daddies and husbands!

Slow down so you don't miss the sweet moments

Cute Cooper came following me into my room yesterday morning. I was hurrying to get in the shower so we could go pick Ian up from preschool. But luckily I stopped long enough. Cooper had his little blue Book of Mormon in his hands and was saying "book, book" (which instead of "k" sound he puts more of a "t" sound which is really cute) "me". Then he pointed at my triple combination and Bible sitting on my bed and said "Momma". So adorable. Then we sat down on the floor and looked through our sets of scriptures together. Priceless. And amazing how these children really do come wired with such a Spirit and innocence about them. Oh how much I have to learn from my children!
